        I also think that this is a good idea for the reasons expressed by
Max and others. In our department, we append a document to each syllabus
stating the college's policies on attendance, academic honesty, etc. It
keeps things standardized and also allows each of us the time to concentrate
on more important things on the syllabus. Of course, each instructor has the
freedom to add to or subtract from or modify the college policies as they
see fit.
