A brief trip down memory lane for Tipsters:
A few years ago (2,3, more?) there was an exchange on this list about those computer
generated images that when stared at, yielded some dramatic three dimensional
perceptions. Posters and books proliferated, and every mall had a booth selling the
darn things. I'm trying to get my hands on an explanation of the perceptual process
that governs those perceptions. I've searched the TIPS archives unsuccessfully,
perhaps because I can't recall the correct search terms. I need either an explanation
of the perceptual process or someone who can pinpoint the time frame of that exchange
or the right terminology to use in a search.
