Hey listfolks,

A few of my non-eurocentric students have made comments in my class to the
effect that America would have fewer social problems if we would institute
female circumcision and infibulation for all girls. This would help to keep
women faithful to their husbands & families together as it does in other
parts of the world and would contribute to increased social order. Sure, it
really hurts the young women who endure it. But it keeps them fearing and
respecting parents and their husbands. And that's all to the good, isn't it?

I am beginning to understand that (by implication, per Dr. Sylvester) if it's
"non-eurocentric", it must be an effective strategy, or perhaps even better
than what we poor narrow-minded "eurocentric" types do.

If you think it's right, it is. Or something like that.
