The Board of Directors of The International Society for the
Exploration of Teaching Alternatives (ISETA) proudly announces the
launching of the ISETA discussion list. Committed to improving learning in
higher education through the exploration of teaching methods and styles
that offer alternatives and supplements to the traditiona lecture method
of instruction, the Board of Directors of ISETA committed to this effort
in the deep belief that a community which brings together all academic
disciplines and sectors of academia creates the bonds of commonality, a
place for friendship, deep personal connections, lasting professional
ties, support, encouragement, and neighborhood. Community develops ability
both in the individual and in groups. Community allows each of us to
produce something more, to think more widely, to enter new worlds and
expand you own. Community creates dialogue in which every move is the
fruit of individuality and harmony among individuals, that draws on the
particular strengths and skills of each member creating something that is
smarter and more effective than any individual member but which serves
all.

You are invited to join this open and unmoderated list, and
participate in the dialogue regarding teaching methods and techniques,
classroom experiences, educational philosophy, princples of teaching,
celebrations of students learning, academic advising, student services,
assessment, administration, or any topic you wish to throw into the ring.
ISETA welcomes people from all disciplines and all sectors of academia
