As my wife (Deb Briihl, fellow TIPSter) and I prepare to depart along the path of Hurricane Lenny for an anniversary cruise around the Carribean, a few stray non-teaching thoughts: Thanks for the electronic medium, that, while frustrating when it doesn't work as efficiently as we perfect humans do, allows us to have consultation with colleagues and friends around the globe on a daily basis. Thanks to fellow TIPSters one and all -- from those who contribute and have given myself and others information and recommendations and advice, that even when not followed or agreed with, allowed for our own "critical thinking" -- to those who provoke, delight, and make TIPS the most interesting, if occasionally the most infuriating ;-) professional group I've ever encountered. Thanks to Bill, who performs a task that is too-often thankless, too-often without reward, and too-often dominated by complaints about reply buttons and individual contributors. Thanks, most personally, to whatever divine or non-divine intevenor allowed me to have this life, with this job that allows me reward and freedom and the never-a-dull-moment experiences, and with this wife of one full year (as of 11/21) who blesses my every day with smiles and ideas and love. Happy Thanksgiving all...
