Hello all!!
This is my first TIPS inquiry, although I have been observing the various
threads for several weeks now.
I am working with a student who is interested in examining sleeping and
dreaming. We are interested in examining whether fluctuations in hormone
levels are related to duration, vividness, and recall of dreams. We are also
interested in examining potential effects on affect and cognition.
Presently, we are discussing a study that would examine female participants
only.
My Questions:
1. I know there is research that connects hormone levels to memory (i.e.,
hormone replacement therapy), any research connecting hormone levels to
sleeping and dreaming?
2. We would like to develop a brief questionnaire that could be incorporated
in research already being conducted at sleep labs. Anyone know the extent to
which university sleep labs or sleep disorder labs (in the private sector)
may be willing to work with us (we are especially interested in labs that
collect dream journal information that we could link to specific questions on
our questionnaire). Or, is anyone aware of any databases that are available
to the general public that have dream content and demographic information
included?
Any help regarding these questions would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance...
