I'd recommend that he take a look at the last book published by Robert
Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter (1996, Harvard University Press),
which continues his work on Right Wing Authoritarianism. He addresses this
dimension in both a political and broader sense, and I believe he addresses
the relation to humor as well.
Good luck!
