I recently acquired Authorware, Dreamweaver 3.0 and Fireworks 3.0 (the graphics
program) but not Coursebuilder. I have just begun to look at all 3, but it
appears that Dreamweaver would allow you to attach an action (like an alert box
that said "right" or "wrong") to an item in a form. You could use it to make
online practice quizzes that gave immediate feedback. If you wanted to process
the forms such that you saved the answers to a file you would still need to
learn a little about CGI scripts. Authorware seems much more suited to
collecting and saving online responses. It has a built-in routine that will
collect a password and log in a user. Perhaps with Coursebuilder and
Dreamweaver together you could do what Authorware does. Macromedia provides
time-limited trial downloads of their products on their web site.
