In an Aug. 9 response to some developmental questions, Mike Sylvester
noted that Erikson "was half Danish (not the pastry) and half Jewish."
This kind of observation has always stuck me as kind of strange--Danish
refers to one's country of origin and Jewish refers to one's
religious/cultural heritage. It seems akin to describing someone as half
African American and half Baptist. Is there some kind of logical
inconsistency here or is this issue a figment of my eurocentric thought
processes? I am a Tipster in search of enlightenment.
