Plus, it makes it really hard to appear erudite when one's college-level
foreign language is just that...and a now distant college-level to boot.
Your correction was so nice; I shudder to think of my fate had I made the
gaffe in France with some civil servant!
I'll have to find a more obscure language in which my lack of proficiency
won't be as readily apparent. Hmmm...Sanskrit, anyone? <g>
