FROSTBURG STATE UNIVERSITY. Department of Psychology. FSU seeks to fill three full-time, tenure track positions to begin August 2001. Appointments will be at the Assistant Professor level with an average teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. General Experimental or Social Psychologist (Position #2001-1035) RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach in the undergraduate psychology program: General Psychology, two semester research methods course sequence, and Social Psychology, with possibility of additional teaching in area of expertise; undergraduate advising; serve as mentor to Psi Chi or Psychology Club; a commitment to sponsor undergraduate student research, to foster a climate accepting of students from diverse backgrounds, and to integrate multicultural issues into courses. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D. in Experimental or Social Psychology by July 2001. Teaching experience with evidence of teaching effectiveness (teaching evaluations preferred) and a commitment to teaching excellence and continued professional development. Developmental Psychologist (Position #2001-1036) RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach in the undergraduate psychology program: Adolescence and Adulthood, two-semester research methods course sequence, General Psychology, with possibility of developing and teaching a Gerontology course; undergraduate advising; serve as mentor to Psi Chi or Psychology Club; a commitment to sponsor undergraduate student research and service learning, to foster a climate accepting of students from diverse backgrounds, and to integrate multicultural issues into courses. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology by July 2001, with a concentration in adult development and aging preferred. Teaching experience with evidence of teaching effectiveness (teaching evaluations preferred) and a commitment to teaching excellence and continued professional development. Counseling/Clinical Psychologist (Adult-Oriented) (Position #2001-1037) RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach graduate courses in the nationally accredited (MPAC) M.S. Counseling Psychology Program: Introduction to Counseling and Assessment, Theories and Techniques, Advanced Abnormal Psychology, and possibly Multicultural Counseling; teach in the undergraduate psychology program: Health Psychology and General Psychology; graduate and undergraduate advising; graduate supervision; a commitment to sponsor student research, to foster a climate accepting of students from diverse backgrounds, and to integrate multicultural issues into courses. The graduate program emphasizes empirically supported assessment and treatment consistent with the department focus on teaching psychology as a science. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Doctorate in counseling/clinical psychology. All doctoral degree requirements must be completed by July 2001 except internship to be completed by mid-August. License eligibility in Maryland. A commitment to teaching excellence and continued professional development. Preferred qualifications include a doctorate from an APA-accredited program in counseling/clinical psychology, an APA-accredited internship, teaching experience with evidence of teaching effectiveness (teaching evaluations preferred), and training in health psychology/behavioral medicine.
