James Baker (former Secretary of State) seems to think
that machine count could be more accurate than manual
counting.
With my experience with scantron grading,I have found
scantron grading is not always accurate: for example,
a student might not use a no.2 pencil,it is at times
not easy to completely erase a wrong answer,a student may
circle the answer on the test booklet but forget to put the
answer on the scantron, and some students may not match
their answer to the item number.
In some instances the instructor may leave some items out
of the key, hence causing the students item to remain
unscored.
I understand that blame could be put on the student for not following
directions, but at the same time the instuctor should not remain
obstinate and obdurate in such situations.
Btw,the cops gave me a ticket for speeding. I asked for a recount
and I was denied.
