When you live way up north the only exposed flesh (with a decent number
of sensory receptors) is the nose. With a fur lined parka hood you create
a circular tunnel of protected air - at the back of the tunnel the only
exposed face goes from the top lip to just above the eyebrows. You have
to keep the eyes and nose open - everything else is covered up.
I have never seen actual numbers on the prevalence of "nose rubbing".
Anybody know?
