The DISC system is used in a number of personality style inventories,
including the Insight Inventory created by Patrick Handley and the Personal
Profile System developed by John Geier (Performax Systems). These
assessments are often used in training and development programs in business
& industry.
The letters DISC represent:
Dominance - shaping the environment by overcoming opposition to accomplish
results
Influencing Others -- shaping the environment by bringing others into
alliance to accomplish results
Steadiness -- cooperating with others to carry out the task
Compliance -- working with existing circumstances to promote quality in
products or services.
