Hello Tipsfriends -
I am about to start preparing a CD-ROM/online class in Quantitative Reasoning
that includes video introductions to each of the eight modules.
I know that I am very audience dependent in my teaching presentation - case
in point is that I am very shaken by the standard interview format used for
faculty positions, where none of the panel responds or reacts. I find it very
hard to function as a teacher under these conditions; the only analogy that
occurs is that it's like "making love to a corpse." It feels unnatural to
me, and my anxiety just goes through the roof.
In the interest of doing good videos for my online course, and improving my
chances in these interviews, I was wondering if any of you out there have
experience making videos for distance education, or strategies for those
interviews, that I can use so that I can be a lively and interesting
presenter despite the lack of audience reaction.
Thanks for any help you can give to me. Hope your fin-de-semester is going
well.
