Actually, what we would see is:
1. 10 hours LESS time spent on Academic activities (teaching, research,
etc.) each semester,
2. Less individuals making the decision to enter teaching instead of the
private sector,
3. Non-tenured faculty doing the community service work while tenured
faculty had no such obligation,
4. A serious ethical question arising as to the right of the institution to
dictate the PRIVATE behavior of the faculty in terms of requiring
non-compensated services (and a union challenge everywhere such a rule was
enacted),
5. More teachers voting Republican in an effort to get rid of intrusive
regulations such as that one.
Nope, Michael. I really don't think that one is going to fly,
