Hi Fellow Tipsters,
I will be retiring from full-time teaching at the end of the summer session.
This completes my 33rd year in the academic world and naturally I have
collected lots of "stuff." I've already completed Stage One, which involved
pitching at least a waste basket a day of the obvious rubble that is
accumulated. Now I am down to the tough decisions. This process is made
more difficult in that our home does not have extra storage space where I
could just transfer the contents of my office.
During the remainder of the semester I am going to be giving books away.
I'll probably do this somewhat topically so that readers will know if they
are interested. Today's topic is Experimental Psychology and the first
offer involves the following books:
Woodworth and Schlosberg's Experimental Psychology,
Stevens' Handbook of Experimental Psychology,
Osgood's Method and Theory in Experimental Psychology.
Are these books of value to any Tipsters for use on laboratory reference
shelves? If they are, please send me a private message. I will ship them
to you UPS. If you want to reimburse me (the college actually) for this
expense that would be nice, but is obviously not a necessity. Since this is
my first time doing something like this, I guess I will just send them to
people on a "first come, first serve" basis.
I know this is a very different message than what typically occurs on the
TIPS list serv. I have been a lurker since the beginning of the list and
have benefitted from the information. If any of you have any suggestions
about the retirement process from a psychology department, I would gladly
receive the information. If you have watched the "old guard" leave your
school, let me know how they expedited the process.
Keep posted for more give aways. Next message will probably be some History
and Systems' books.
