Tipsmavens,

Thanks for all your helpful advice on the grade appeal.  I am not by nature a
calm person but during a week when I am still teaching lengthy intersession
classes AND beginning a full-time gig on the other side of town, it was like
the camel on my straw back!

The upshot was:  We are going to turn her grade to an "I", she will write the
paper she failed to turn in, and provided it is a very, very good paper, I
will reconsider.  I have no problem with doing this, I only object to having
students dictate the terms of grading to me, or being compelled to give
"something for nothing." So I feel better now.

Two quick questions:

1)What's the latest research indicate about pot and memory loss (STM/LTM)?

2)Is the saying that we all grew up with that "eating fish makes you smarter"
based at all in reality?  Can anyone tell me where this idea came from and
how much truth there is to it?

Thanks for all your help.  The weekend approaches - enjoy!
