I did a web search on the intriguing phrase, and discovered that
it actually does seem to be the precise term that is used,
although none of my sources were what you could call scholarly. I
also found a lot of really bad elephant jokes. So, so far,
Michael Renner's account is the definitive one.
I also discovered that the porpoise apparently has one also.
