Hi
I also received this from another list under the subject "APA
Facism." There is certainly all of the appearance of APA
behaving in a questionable manner. One thing that Scott might do
is announce to APA and the world that he would welcome all
correspondence related to this submission being put in the public
domain. That would allow APA members and other concerned
psychologists to better appreciate the position of APA. Perhaps
APA could also allow Scott to make his manuscript available on
the internet without it compromising its publication in an APA
journal (although that could backfire for Scott if APA behaved in
an unprincipled manner).
Just as a personal impression, I do believe that APA is being
excessively politicized, and that it does damage to its
credibility as a scientific organization.
Best wishes
Jim
