While going through the New Scientist web site this morning, I came
across a section called, "Bizarre Science"
(http://www.newscientist.com/hottopics/bizarre/). It looks ideal for
those times you are sitting on the can while playing with your laptop
(something about that last phrase sounds strange). There may be some
amusing examples for your classes in here. The following description is
from the web page:

"By popular demand, we've again trawled through those 160,000 pages of
back issues (actually they've grown to 168,000 pages since the first
issue of Bizarre Tales came out) to bring you weird and desperate tales
from our past. This time there's no escaping the truly odd: exploding
rabbits and dogs with humming heads, haircuts created by a Van de Graaff
generator, a musical bra Mozart would have loved, and huskies with no
sense of the ludicrous."
