Nina,
A quick search of the ERIC/AE Test Locator - ETS Test File
(http://ericae.net/testcol.htm#ETSTF) resulted in a record that employs
"College Life Stress Inventory" as the title of CUSS and contains this
information:
Title: College Life Stress Inventory
Author: Renner, Michael J. Mackin, R. Scott
Abstract: The College Undergraduate Stress Scale (CUSS) was designed to
give traditional college age students an example of a stress rating
scale which is relevant to stressors in their own lives. On a 7-point,
Likert-type scale, students indicate the degree of stress each of 51
events causes for them. Many introductory college textbooks use the
Social Readjustment Rating Scale (SRRS) (TC020560) which is designed for
adult populations and describes stress in terms of life change units.
The CUSS may give students a personally relevant way to understand the
SRRS and general literature on life stress. It may also help students
studying the relationship between stress and health. The CUSS has been
administered using the title College Life Stress Inventory. Technical
data are included."
For availability, it cites this TOP article: Teaching of Psychology,
0098-6283, v25 n1 p46-48, 1998. I don't have the issue handy, but
perhaps the "technical data" referred to in the abstract is that of
reliability and validity. Searches of PsycINFO and ERIC also turn up
only this same reference. If the TOP article doesn't give you what you
need, contact the authors directly. At the time the article was
published, Renner was at West Chester U, Dept of Psychology, West
Chester, PA.
You may be interested in a tests and measures resource guide I've
compiled that addresses questions like this. It's availabe in html
format at http://www.slu.edu/colleges/AS/PSY/Tests1.html and in pdf
format at
http://www.slu.edu/colleges/AS/PSY/Tests1.pdf. I'm literally in the
process of updating it now for a class tomorrow, so look for the latest
versions to be posted by late afternoon Monday.
Best,
Miriam
