It's time for another iteration of the perennial plea for people to please 
shorten their posts by deleting all non-essential portions of the posts to 
which they are responding. These mammoth posts are a real inconvenience for 
those of us who receive the digest version of TIPS.

Ideally, posters should take the time it write a brief introduction to their 
posts e.g., "Miguel asked why the practices of omphaloskepsis and haruspicy 
have all but disappeared from the modern college campus."  Then, the entire 
text of "Miguel's" and earlier posts could be deleted. I know it's quicker and 
easier for folks to just include all previous posts but it's a real 
pain-in-the-butt for readers.
