The percentage of international students applying for grad school is up.But they ain't going into psychology. This is not surprising because psychology appears to be a subject for white folks by white folks. While teaching intro at a school in Daytona some of the Middle East students thought that psychology was anti-Koranic and it certainly did not help introducing jewish theorists in the class. One Islamic student told me that if he was to study psychology in grad school it could disgrace the family honor. Most international grad students appear to be going into the sciences.engineering, and business. So those cultures appear to be more practical in their academic orientations and do not seem to pursue petit bourgeosie enterprises like Western psychology.
