I was thinking of the experimental history and experimental
anthropology shows...but they also usually do focus on things that can
be blown up, shot at, or kill a lot of people.

So, such a show might have a chance if you show, for example, that
King Tut had a narcisistic personality disorder and that's why (beyond
any and all doubt that he had the pyramids built). Of course, 95% of
the show would be about the pyramids, the help received from aliens,
and the spin-off episodes of the family grief counselling (such as it
was in those days) for those unfortunates who were crushed by the
massive stones. Oh yes, the psych explanation of the narcissism would
be the last 2-5%.
