I was thinking of the experimental history and experimental anthropology shows...but they also usually do focus on things that can be blown up, shot at, or kill a lot of people.
So, such a show might have a chance if you show, for example, that King Tut had a narcisistic personality disorder and that's why (beyond any and all doubt that he had the pyramids built). Of course, 95% of the show would be about the pyramids, the help received from aliens, and the spin-off episodes of the family grief counselling (such as it was in those days) for those unfortunates who were crushed by the massive stones.
