I agree. An excellent book for your summer reading list. It is interesting, well written, and describes a host of different issues including the progress and history of science and ethics. The author spoke on campus last month and she was smart and articulate (like the book). Marie

I can't remember what article it was, but something similar was happening in the states where a couple were suing the government for making their baby's DNA available for research without consent. The collection, storage, and use of babies DNA is apparently routinely carried out by said government. Of course that would never happen in Canada.
