Thanks for that Stephen. I used to do a great lecture on the bell & pad method 
in an attempt to make students see the relevance of Pavlov's "spitting dogs." 
It was both informative and amusing (if I do say so myself). For some reason, I 
seem to have (unintenionally) dropped it from my PSY100 conditioning lectures, 
probably due to lack of time. But I'm now going to make a real effort to 
reinsert it.
