I will be teaching a 200-level Cognitive Development course this coming Fall semester and need to find a textbook. Students are required to have taken Intro. Psyc or Human Growth and Development, but are not required to have any research methods or statistics courses. I have heard that typically sophomores and juniors enroll in this course and it is very popular with the education majors. Does anyone have suggestions on textbooks? I don't want anything too complex, but I am looking for for a text that includes a lot of detail, pictures, applications, and examples. I just defended my dissertation in May and have my first full-time teaching position at a small liberal arts college so any suggestions on classroom assignments or activites would be greatly appreciated.
