The first time I was handed a stereotaxic equipment,my thoughts went back to
les miserables, the guillotine, and the French revolution.
Granted that the rat was well sedated I felt more like an executioner
than Olds and Milner (btw, were they Canadians?)
Had to try five times on five different rats before getting it right.
Any woes to report from students and faculty?
Those maps of the brain were very specific in pinpointing co-ordinates. Just
imagine a stereotaxic for a bull-Jose Delgado
apparently had to implant in the caudate nucleus. And how about
a stereotaxic on an elephant?Need a mechanical drill to get it down,eh?
I guess the mapping folks do not expect cell assembly shifts.
