Bob, There are several people on this list whom I mostly ignore. I'm sure most everyone on TIPS has their own such list. However, when someone -- even among those I usually ignore -- states what is a clear falsehood in an area in which I am relatively certain of my facts, I respond, lest the unchallenged falsehood be taken as fact by other TIPSters and repeated in other arenas. (Such falsehoods are often so striking that they are likely to be repeated because of their inherently fascinating character, like "urban legends.")
Further, if there has ever been a better refutation of the global generalizability of the operant theory of extinction than we have seen on TIPS over the past several years, I do not know of it.
