Hi Chris- Thanks so much for passing this along! Years ago I spearheaded a project to help severely mentally and phyically handicapped individuals develop communication skills via computer technology. I would have given anything to have had a device like this back then. Even if it only works half as well in the real world as it does in demo mode (and most of this technology falls into this category) it is far better than anything I've ever seen. Imagine having the ability to think of one of the words (or pictures, or symbols) displayed on a screen and have a voice synthesizer say it aloud. If you are physically and vocally impaired this would be a life changing technology.
