Stetson U will now allow students to have pets in their dorm rooms. They have
designated one dorm for that purpose. There is a Pet Council to address issues
relating to pets. This special dorm is surrounded by a large grassy yard
outdoors for pet recreational purposes. Some students have dogs, cats, and even a
rat.So if I was teaching at Stetson and a student told me that the dog ate the
homework.I would believe the student.
Just curious,if tipsters allow pets in the classroom.or if tipsters can relate
negative or positive episodes they have had with pets in the classroom. When I
was at Wichita State I conditioned pigeons
to play ping pong, table tennis, and foosball.A student of mine from
India brought a small barrel with a snake in it.The only way he could get the
snake to come out of the barrel was to play the flute.
It would be interesting to conduct research re assessing if students with pets
in the dorm would be less stressful than those without pets.
