Hi I wonder if people know of any research or have experience with course evaluations using different number of scale categories? It has been suggested here for some purposes, to use just two categories: Unsatisfactory vs. Satisfactory. I'm familiar with the general literature on number of categories (more is better up to a limit), but wondered if anything was available specifically with course evaluations?
