Of course it won't happen. Because, the academic is actually given a grant from the pharma/copywriter group that the university loves. So, they swoon over said academic rather than examine the whats and wherefores of the situation.
It won't be long, maybe is already the case, that the book companies start writing textbooks instead of the purported academic author who is then paid a modest fee to put their name on the book to give it an air of legitimacy.
