In a previous post I stated that it is possible that practice on the Stroop could strenghten "attentional" and "self-correctional " factors as to transfer to other aspects of one's daily activities.Given that this maybe difficult to achieve with Alz clients, the new guy on the list seems to suggest that memory tasks are restricted and not appropriate to the learning and performance tasks,There are many situations where performance in one area can be generalized to other areas. Is the inability of Alz clients to remember the names of their children a failure of free recall or a failure of recognition? The Stroop can play a role in strengthening both abilities. There are other "attentional"paradigms that can be generalized, for example meditation.Although I used to practice a Zen like meditation , I found that this relaxed pose transferred to many aspects of everyday activities.
