Department of Behavioral Sciences/Counseling/Clinical Psychological Science Position (Tenure Track) General Statement of Duties: Full-time, tenure-track assistant professor to teach a wide range of courses in Clinical/Counseling Psychology. Ability to teach and develop undergraduate courses in the core curriculum (e.g. Personality, Abnormal , General Psychology or Human Growth & Development) as well as elective courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. Faculty also have an opportunity to teach and advise students in the Graduate Counseling Program. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Faculty responsibilities include teaching work load (four courses a semester). 2. Preparations for classroom and laboratory instruction. 3. Faculty will be responsible for student assistance including academic advising. 4. Faculty responsibilities as a professional may include those in the following areas: a. Participation as a professional in public service. b. Participation in and contributions to the improvement and development of the academic programs or academic services of the University. c. Participation in and contributions to the professional growth and development of the University Community 5. Will participate in scheduled orientation and registration programs. 6. Faculty attend University functions, including commencement, faculty, committee, and departmental meetings and convocations. 7. Instructional responsibilities include courses in Personality, Abnormal, and General Psychology or Human Growth & Development. 8. Opportunities to teach summer, winter term, and undergraduate and graduate evening courses. 9. Desirable subfields: Clinical/Counseling Psychology 10. Faculty members also participate in curriculum development, and serve on department and campus committees. Qualifications: 1. Requires doctorate in Psychology with specialization in Clinical/Counseling Psychology, Personality, Psychopathology, or related field. 2. Ability to lead a research program that could involve undergraduates preferred. 3. Commitment to excellence in teaching, demonstrated teaching experience appropriate to the level of appointment, and evidence of scholarly/creative activity. 4. Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body. 5. A commitment to research and publication that will engage undergraduate and graduate students. 6. An ability to perform all duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
