What follows may be old news to some of you, but t his Sunday I heard a fascinating segment of NPR's RadioLab in which there is a discussion of one of Henry Murray's experiments carried out at Harvard in support of efforts to train US fighter pilots to resist interrogations if caught by the enemy. It is a fascinating story about the actual experiment itself (one that would be unlikely to be approved in today's IRB regulatory climate ) with a most interesting twist regarding the reaction of "Lawful" one the participants . That individual ended up being one of the FBI's most wanted men during the 1990s who was eventually caught. The segment may be heard here: http://www.radiolab.org/2010/jun/28/ . If you do not want to spoil the ending, please do not read the comments section. The segment begins at about 4.20 minutes into the podcast and lasts until about minute 13:00.
A summary of events regarding the fugitive in question may be found in the Wikipedia entry for that person. Enjoy. Miguel --- You are currently subscribed to tips as: [email protected].
