Interesting. Though I find his math rather puzzling. I try to read with an open mind and some of what he says is interesting and thought provoking. But the article said: "In a 2007 study of both elite and non-elite universities, Dr. Gross and Dr. Simmons reported that nearly 80 percent of psychology professors are Democrats, outnumbering Republicans by nearly 12 to 1." Wouldn't 80% be 4 to 1? Am I missing something? And before that he is quoted as having said: "“But when we find out that conservatives are underrepresented among us by a factor of more than 100, suddenly everyone finds it quite easy to generate alternate explanations.” " A factor of 100? But it's 80% and 12 to 1? Ok- I still like the idea for provoking discussion but I'd find it easier to follow if the numbers were a bit more consistent. Back to work.
