It would seem to me that since the Holy Father can issue a blessing Urbi and
Orbi(to the city and to the world) from his balcony window,then a priest
should be able to post a generalized absolution.However there are privacy
concerns.In the confessional sins come in one ear and goes out the other
ear.But with electronic transmissions a permanent record is established.
But I could see a positive aspect within the psychoanalytical
paradigm-dream,diaries,free associations and other factors.
Within the RET paradigm ,clients can review and sefl-correct their
irrational beliefs.
