Don, Thanks for sharing this comic. An excellent example of what happens much too often. I'm sad to say that I had a faculty mentor at grad school who did something just like this: he ran all kinds of correlations between various tests and then just focused on the ones that came out significant and then wrote papers on those findings. The comic really captures this poor approach to research.
