Interesting manipulation. If I recall correctly, the NY Times ran the photo with Clinton in it and noted that the photo had been altered to obscure the document on the table in front of her (security concerns about enlarging a digital photo to read the document itself).
Photos of US military aircraft are routinely altered to eliminate the identifying numbers painted on the bodies of these planes for similar security reasons.
