It is my understanding that after the Berlin wall came tumbling down,
psychiatry and psychological services were flourishing businesses in the
newly reunited Germany.Apparently many East Germans felt depressed because of
coping issues with their new found freedom. Is there verification for this?
As the cross-cultural dude on Tips, moving from a collectivist lifestyle to an
individualistic lifestyle can lead to a variety of depressive episodes-
many Brazilians who are accustomed to burstling street activity in Rio
get depressed because the streets in the U.S are not a venue for social
interactions.
But this paradigm lifestyle shift created havoc among Polish immigrants in the
U.S.I consider Polish,Italian,South Korean to be the most racist immigrant
groups in the U.S Cicero,Illinois was the
scene of a very vicious Polish attacks on African-American
in the early Civil rights era.
I am currently monitoring depression rates in the Ukraine
where a lifestyle paradigm shift occured about eight years ago.
