Apparently if one has a problem in falling  and staying asleep,turning on a 
hair dryer and leaving it on next to one's head will solve the problem.This has 
been reported by some women who have testified to the effectiveness of this 
method of sleep initiation and mantenance. My feeling is that the hair dryer 
helps to induce a  patterned rhythmicity congruent with sleep.
