Oh wow, can't resist talking Blazing Saddles. It ends with that interesting
film technique in which they step outside the movie, in this case the fight at
the end crashes through the supposed movie set and intermingles with Dom
Lelouise directing another movie, then they all run into the streets of
Hollywood and Sheriff Bart and Heady (that's HEADLY!) Lamar end up in a movie
theatre watching the end of their own movie. Woody Allen does a similar
technique wonderfully at the end of Annie Hall. It has the effect of making the
initial movie more real by making the ending patently faction ... yaddy yaddy.
That's just my take at least. Don't know if this line is in Mike's link, but
when the fight crashes into the Hollywood lunch line for the two-bit actors
there is a Hitler at the lunch table saying "Day lose me after da bunker
scene". Another great scene is when Sheriff Bart et al come across count Basie
in the middle of the desert playing the background music for that scene (Woody
Allen does this less well in Bananas, opening a closet door and finding a
harpist).

But the REAL question of the day is whether Kobi is the real champ by getting
69 wiener dogs (Joey had 62?). Does an "*" have to go into the official record
books? And like, don't these people ever worry about Nitrites and Sodium and
Fat? 60 is about 10 years worth of wiener dogs for me :-(

For some reason this reminds me of a scene from the movie "Blazing
Saddles". Shortly after Bart (Cleavon Little) is saved from the gallows
and is made sheriff of Rock Ridge, he visits his friends on rail laying
crew where this exchange between Bart and Charlie (Charles McGregor)
occurs:

|Charlie: They said you was hung.
|Bart: And they was right.
