The Sheraton Hotel<http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1046>, downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma When will the conference be held? April 12-14, 2012 What is the theme of the conference? The conference theme is Trauma and Resilience; however, submissions are welcome on any psychology-related topic. Who are the keynote speakers? Professor Ann Masten, University of Minnesota Provost Robert J. Sternberg, Oklahoma State University Professor Daniel Schacter, Harvard University Professor James Pennebaker, University of Texas at Austin Professor Mark Flinn, University of Missouri Professor Joseph Trimble, Western Washington University What is the cost to join and to attend the conference? Dues for student members are $20 and for non-student members is $55. Regular registration fee is $20. With Bundle Discount savings, if you pay both your dues and your registration at one time prior to the abstract submission cut-off date, then you will save $5. Please note that there are no refunds, if your abstract is not accepted for the program. For more information about joining and/or renewing your membership, please see the Membership Information. Who is eligible to submit to the conference? Any member of SWPA is eligible to submit. Dues must be current at the time of submission for all authors listed on the submission. For more information about joining and/or renewing your membership, please see the Membership Information. How do I volunteer as an abstract reviewer? Any full member of SWPA is eligible to serve as a reviewer. As you complete you membership profile, when you are joining SWPA for the first time or renewing your membership, you can volunteer as an abstract reviewer and select up to 5 topics for which you are qualified to review. The link to volunteer is located at the top of the profile page. Please note that you will receive abstracts for each topic you select, so those selecting more topics will receive more abstract. What types of submissions will be accepted? SWPA accepts submissions for posters, talks, symposia, CE workshops, and non-CE workshops. Submit all abstracts (including those for adjunct organizations) through at swpsych.org<http://www.swpsych.org/>. SWPA expects that those who submit abstracts commit to attend the convention and present their submission if it is accepted. Are there student awards for presentations? YES! There are undergraduate and graduate student paper competitions. First prize winners receive $300. Second prize winners of each receive $200. Third prize winners receive $100. There is also a $100 award for the best poster presentation on the topic of teaching of psychology. What is the submission deadline? SWPA, Psi Chi, SWTOP, and SAMR submissions open on October 1st, 2011 and close on November 30th, 2011 at midnight central time.
