I have only seen a recreation of the Milgram study narrated by Rosenhan.Delineating what is the precise IV and DV seem to present some issues. On the one hand it would appear that administering shocks for the wrong answer would be more of a DV.Rosenhan thinks though that the real experiment would be the extent the experimental subject obeys the prof which would be both a DV and IV.Rosenhan in the film Moral development, would also have us believe that the IV/DV is influenced by the stage of moral development of the experimental subject ( a subject variable which could also be viewed as an IV impacting the DV of shock administration). Can the introspective justification for shocking given by experimental subjects be considered an IV or DV? Nice study though, but I would be hesitant to use the Milgram study to demonstrate the IV/DV distinction. Btw,did you know that Daniel Ellsberg (of Pentagon papers}used Milgram to explain the My Lai massacre? Michael "omnicentric" Sylvester,PhD Daytona Beach,Florida
