Thanks for the heads-up, Mike. There does seem to be a problem with
mail archiving at Mail-Archive. I checked out their FAQs, and all
they say is that they won't archive messages which carry an
instruction not to archive ("X-No-Archive: yes will not be archived
by this service"). I checked, and my messages do not carry this
instruction, at least as far as I can tell.
As for support, they refer us to a discussion group (archived at Mail-
Archive, of course) called "Gossip". I found someone else on another
list with the same problem (see
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg00678.html
Lots of discussion, no answers, and there appears to be no
possibility of finding any. But it doesn't seem to be a mail
filtering problem involving the unwise use of the word "rape" in my
header. My "Cow compass" made it, but not "At 93, eminent research
psychologist", which contains nary a naughty word.
If people will bear with me, I'll try re-posting the date rape one
and see if it gets into the archive this time. It could be a random
glitch. For that matter, let's see if this one makes it.
I'm concerned about this because I like having the wider audience
mail archiving provides for non-TIPS googlers, and I occasionally
receive an interesting comments from anoutsider about a post I've
made. But if it doesn't make it into the archive, there's no chance.
Perhaps Bill would like to re-instate our own archive. That way at
least we'd have someone to complain to.
