Dear Tipsters,

It is, of course, possible that he didn't intervene because it wasn't a rape.
Sandusky claims that they were just "horsing around". The media have clearly
convicted the coach but I prefer to wait for the court to make a determination.

I happened to see Anderson Cooper on CNN showing a court document on the screen
with all the prurient details of the alleged incident in the shower.

Although some journalists retain the adjective "alleged" the message seems to
be that he did it. Maybe he did, but this is a matter for the judicial court,
not the court of public opinion, fuelled by screaming headlines.

With regard to the obligations of people (e.g., witness, head coach, athletic
director and so on up), we again get a media frenzy of blame.

Do I detect hints of the hindsight effect here?

I wonder what all these journalists would have done if they had been in the
place of all those standing accused.

Again, I am not trying to hint that the assistant coach is not guilty - just
asking about objectivity.

Sincerely,

Stuart
