I am surprised that not too many Russians(at least the sample that I have encountered) seem to know or heard of Pavlov.I find the same of the ex- Soviet block countries like the Poles and the Hungarians. But I did find some Uzbeks and Ukrainians who were familiar of his work.Virtually all the reds knew of Chekov.(sp) I am curious as to how many Americans have heard of Skinner,Stephen Black,or Mike Palij? Btw,I saw a piece that showed that the Soviets pioneered developping fur coats from dog skin and it was in the same region where Pavlov was. Any hint that the term "three dog night" could be of Soviet origin?
