I am surprised that not too many Russians(at least the  sample  that I have 
encountered)  seem to know or heard of Pavlov.I find the same of the ex- Soviet 
block countries like the Poles and the Hungarians.But I did find some Uzbeks 
and Ukrainians who were familiar of his work.Virtually all the reds knew of 
Chekov.(sp) I am curious as to how many Americans have heard of Skinner,Stephen 
Black,or Mike Palij? 
Btw,I saw a piece that showed that the Soviets pioneered developping fur coats 
from dog skin and it was in  the same region where Pavlov was.
Any hint that the term "three dog night" could be of Soviet origin?
