I'm very excited to announce that the app I've been working on for months was
accepted by Apple last night and is available in the iTunes app store for $2.99.

I call it "Psyc Test Hero" and I hope students find it to be a useful test prep
app. Right now it covers key terms in Bio, Learning, Disorders, Personality,
Research and therapy - a total of 197 terms (I'll be adding more soon). I
think the app is unique in that I organized the terms using concept maps and
then provided brief audio definitions and examples when you tap on a node/term
in the map. There are also images and drag-and-drop quizzes.

Unlike my other apps, I decided to code this one completely from scratch. I'm
more of a hacker than a real programmer, but I knew enough (and learned a lot
more) to put this together after many, many early mornings, late nights and
long weekends. Thank god for a patient and supportive wife.

The app is iPad only right now because of the size of the concept maps, but I'm
trying to re-format the idea to fit smaller sized iOS and Android phones. I
create the apps as a hobby, but also to support my podcast. If you don't
have an iPad you might want to consider "gifting" the app to someone who could
use it (kind of a unique holiday gift). To do this, open iTunes and click on
"Buy iTunes Gifts" on the right side of the homepage.

Sorry for the self-promotion but I’m pretty excited about it and I think psyc
students will find it useful. Thx,

Michael
